It was nice to be asked to be involved in Not Just Another Pretty Face---  a commissioning project created by the Hyde Park Art Center. The Art Center arranges commissions between patrons and artists who will produce engaging personal works (from the traditional to the very untraditional).

I will be in a four person show "Fabric and Fabricators:Four Textile Artists" at Ridge Art-the artists are Deb Herman, Natividad Amador, and Vernoique LeRiche Fischetti- the show opens during Art Walk on Harrison Street in Oak Park, IL on May 16-18, 2008 and will continue through August 2008.

A little far ahead but i will be a part of Soft Life curated by Frank Connet and Allison Peters, this group show will feature artists  Aviva Alter, Danny Mansmith, Rebecca Rinquist, and Miller & Shellagarger. These artists have created textile artwork infused with autobiographical content, putting a new visual spin on a traditional craft.

 I will be an artist in residence from Oct 13-24, 2007 at Caro D'Offay gallery for The Colorsit Chess 2007-I will construct an object and expand it's size 24 times from a written description with found materials and my industrial sewing machine in the gallery the 2nd weekend in October13-15,than continue until Oct 24 .Everyone is welcome to try to interpret the description and send in their object to be apart of the exhibition at the end of the project ...

I'm happy to be in another group exhibition at Artformz Alternative gallery in Miami.The exhibition is called "It's SO UNfair" November 11-January 9 2007,opening reception on Saturday,Nov 11- 6pm-10pm.The exhibiton will be open for Art Basel Week December 7,8,and 9.I will show my 7' tall wrapped figure "What You Do For Love" standing in a sea of 600 paper flowers.

I will talk with the 6th,7th,and 8th graders at Elm Place Middle School in Highland Park Monday Oct 23 and Tuesday Oct 24.I'll speak to them about my work and help the kids make fiber collages in the shapes of musical instruments in Beth Lucker's art classes.
